Hi, I'm Mike, founder of Pivotal People Care.

With over 20 years in health and social care recruitment, I've worked across an incredibly diverse range of roles—from frontline management positions to senior executive placements—in residential care, nursing homes, supported living, rehabilitation, mental health services, and beyond.

Throughout my career, I've experienced recruitment from every angle. I've worked extensively within agency recruitment, led internal recruitment functions for organisations, successfully built and managed my own recruitment businesses for 13 years, and helped other companies set up and develop their recruitment operations. This rich and varied journey has equipped me with an exceptional understanding of the care sector and a unique perspective on what it takes to recruit effectively and ethically.

Establishing Pivotal People Care has fulfilled a longstanding ambition to create a recruitment brand that genuinely reflects my values. Our name is intentional—we quite literally "do what it says on the tin"—recruiting the truly pivotal people who shape, lead, and transform care organisations.

In an age increasingly driven by technology and AI, I remain convinced that recruitment, particularly in care, must be deeply human. Empathy, integrity, and meaningful relationships remain central to how I work. It’s our human approach that sets us apart, and I’m incredibly proud of that.
